Flood Advisory issued August 21 at 7:31PM EDT until August 21 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

AREAS AFFECTED: Elbert, GA; Hart, GA

DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Nuisance flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Georgia, including the following counties, Elbert and Hart. * WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rapid rises and high flows are expected along smaller streams, some of which may overflow their banks and flood low-water crossings. Streams to be impacted include Little Beaverdam Creek, Coldwater Creek, Butler and their tributaries. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 725 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in the Advisory area since 600 PM. - Additional rainfall amounts up to one half inch are expected over the area through 700 PM. This additional rain will result in nuisance flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Royston, Bowman, Vanna and Dewy Rose. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Your message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
